State Snooker Championship

24 May 2017

Entries for the 2017 WA State Snooker Championship are closing soon. This is the most prestigious event on the WA Snooker calendar, carrying double ranking points on the WA list. Matthew Bolton is on a 3 year winning streak, matching Peter McCullagh’s hat-trick prior to that in 2011-13. Matthew’s 5 wins in total is second only to the legendary Jim Bonner with 14 state titles.

The tournament will be played on the WA Day long weekend, 3-5 June, with Round Robin matches on Saturday followed by the knockout on Sunday, and concluding with the semis and final on Monday 5 June. Up to 16 players will be seeded directly through to the knockout, depending on the number of entries.

The entry fee has been increased this year to $70, but this includes 2x$10 drink vouchers to be used at PBFPSC North Perth over the weekend. This initiative is to ensure we acknowledge the support of the Pot Black Family Pool & Snooker Centre for providing us the venue for our championship.

Full tournament dress code applies – long sleeve shirt buttoned at the wrist, dress trousers, dark colour dress shoes, and bow tie must be worn for all matches. Waistcoats are required from the Quarter Finals onwards.

Entries are due to close this Sunday 28 May, so that the draw can be finalised and published to give players advance notice of their playing times. Entries can be made at the Event Entries page.
